Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you to our state of the art facility. We will request that you arrive a few minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to complete our new patient forms. You can also find these forms on our website under the "What to Expect Tab. If you wish, you can download these forms and complete them prior to arriving at our office. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss your health-related concerns. This initial visit is designed for the doctors to learn more about you, your condition, and your expectations.

After your consultation, the doctor will perform an examination including standard neurological, orthopedic, postural and weight bearing tests as well as a complete chiropractic evaluation. The doctor can then determine if chiropractic care is appropriate for you.

X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition, the doctor may order X-rays or other radiologic tests to help determine the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert her of any serious spinal conditions. X-rays are not performed in-office. We refer our patients to Montclair Radiology, which is a short distance from the office.

At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you will receive an initial spinal correction.  Our doctors utilize many different techniques in order to provide you with the most comfortable and effective adjustment. They will educate you about the adjustment and spinal correction and will answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Report of Findings

Your report of findings visit is usually scheduled at the time you make your initial appointment. In this follow-up visit, your doctor will review the examination findings, including any radiographic or tests that may have been ordered, and discuss treatment recommendations. If it is felt that your condition requires treatment other than chiropractic care, you will be referred to the appropriate health care professional.

Treatment and Wellness Program

A treatment plan will be outlined for you including appropriate at home exercises and/or stretches, postural support and self care recommendations. If you are in pain when you first come into our office, recommendations may include: ice or heat application instructions and/or certain activities or positions to avoid. We know that every body is unique; therefore everyone requires a customized treatment and wellness plan.  Our goal is to provide you with the best possible care to restore your body to an optimal state of health and wellness.
