Dr. André Schmitz DC
Dr. André Schmitz DCDr. André L Schmitz is a board-certified, licensed Chiropractor and founder of the Shattuck Rose Chiropractic Healing Center in Berkeley, California. A Berkeley native, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Community Holistic Health Education at San Francisco State University, and his Doctorate from Life Chiropractic College West. He also holds dual certifications in Acupressure and Massage Therapy from the Acupuncture Institute, now part of the McKinnon Body Therapy Center in Oakland.
Prior to Shattuck Rose, Dr. Schmitz founded the Berkeley Integrative Healing Clinic, which incorporated allopathic (conventional/Western) medicine, chiropractic medicine, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, psychotherapy, and massage therapy. He also worked for the Department of Public Health in Berkeley to establish the first HIV screenings using the OraSure HIV-1 Oral Specimen Collection Device and provided chiropractic care through San Francisco General Hospital’s Potrero Hill Health Center | The Healing Project. During his training, Dr. Schmitz travelled as part of mobile chiropractic clinics in Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Costa Rica providing diagnosis, treatment, and education to families without access to healthcare.
