I had hurt myself at work about a year ago and had herniated a disc in my lumbar area. I had pain, couldn't sit or drive, and was severely restricted in my every day activities. I went to doctors, physical therapy, and chiropractors in search of an answer to the question, "What should I be doing exactly to releave my pain and get my body back to my normal active self?". I'm 26, 5' 9" and 180 lbs. I have been pretty active my whole life. Surely I could overcome this injury, couldn't I? For a year, nobody coluld even answer the question, "What should I be doing?" At the North Shore Spine and Disc I found my answers. After a few short weeks, I am 99% back to normal with confidence that as long as I follow the doctors instructions for the next six months, I will be 100% back with a second chance to live a strong, healthy life.
Needless to say, I highly recommend this place.
On a side note, I learned of the spinal decompression technique from a tv commercial my mother had seen. This was for a chiropractor in Orange, CT about three hours away from my residence. I went there first but quickly realized that the distance was an issue and I hoped I could find the same therapy near where I lived. I figured there should be something similar near Boston. It turns out, not only was North Shore Spine and Disc cheaper (by almost half), but the other place had an assisant that did not even know how to properly hook up the machinery and there was no doctor supervision. In North Shore Spine and Disc, the doctor himself had strapped me into the machine and I could feel the difference right away. I am extremely glad I chose North Shore Spine and Disc.
