Meet Dr. Joseph M. Wardie, D.C.

Here's my story:

Searching For Answers….. In All the Wrong Places!

My interest in alternative health began in 1996 after dealing with illnesses and injuries for many years. As a competitive cross country and track athlete during my high school and college years I was injured or ill almost as often as I was healthy. In August 1991, just before the start of my senior year of college, I became ill with a fever and fatigue which lasted off and on for one full year. I made the trip to many different medical doctors and had many tests performed with many different diagnoses. I was on antibiotics for most of that year and every time I would go off of them, I would get a fever again. The doctors then removed my tonsils and adenoids and I was told I would be better, but I only became worse. I took two years off from exercising before trying to become competitive again. In 1994 I began training for triathlons only to injure my knee. I was unable to run ¼ of a mile without severe pain. In the spring of 1996 I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and suffered from kidney stones. I was also told I needed surgery on my knee if I was going to run again. At this point I was extremely frustrated and sick and tired of being sick and tired. With every visit to the doctor came more and more prescriptions for drugs. At the age of 27, I was a walking pharmacy. I was constantly self-medicating for every little sniffle and ache or pain.

A New Approach

Then, in the spring of 1996 I met my wife who introduced me to her chiropractor. He was able to tell me why I was fatigued, what was wrong with my knee and why I had kidney stones. He started me on whole food nutritional supplements along with chiropractic care. I began noticing a difference within months and by the end of a year I felt like a new person. I was able to run more than ten miles without knee pain or fatigue. Sure, I had to take a lot of supplements, but I knew this was repairing my body and getting to the root cause of my problem instead of covering up my symptoms with toxic chemicals.

A New Beginning

At that time I had a degree in HVAC & R Engineering Technology and owned and operated an indoor air quality business. After my experience with chiropractic and a great deal of support and encouragement from my wife, I began to pursue an education in alternative health. I struggled with deciding which type of education to pursue. Should I become a naturopath, a homeopath, a nutritionist or a chiropractor? I began studying and taking seminars in these areas. I quickly came to the conclusion that patients couldn't be at their optimal health without chiropractic, good nutrition and proper exercise. I decided that chiropractic would give me the best opportunity and education to be able to help the largest number of people in all of these areas. Upon making my decision, I began researching every chiropractic school in the country to find the best possible education. In the end, I chose Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri just west of St. Louis. Before entering chiropractic school I made many visits to different chiropractors in order to see what techniques were out there. I began researching each of the techniques and was very intrigued by one in particular called Applied Kinesiology (AK) founded and developed by world renowned chiropractor and alternative health care practitioner Dr. George J. Goodheart, Jr. While attending Logan, I experimented with many different techniques but I always felt that each technique was incomplete, except Applied Kinesiology (AK). I then began taking AK seminars outside of chiropractic school which were taught by those who worked personally with Dr. Goodheart for many years in his office. I also took AK classes offered at Logan College of Chiropractic. Although I hadn't yet met Dr. Goodheart, he was my hero when it came to alternative health. I was always amazed when I would read, study, and practice his work. He was years ahead of his time and he had a gift that few have.

While attending school I taught other chiropractic students about whole food nutrition. I was also a teaching assistant for the Applied Kinesiology Club and recipient of the first George J. Goodheart, Jr. Scholarship in Applied Kinesiology. I also enjoyed being president of the Christian Chiropractic Club on the Logan campus.

A New Life

Upon graduation, I fulfilled an internship with an AK doctor in Bay City, Michigan and was then recruited to work with Dr. Goodheart and his associates in his office located in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. I couldn't believe I was actually given the opportunity to work with the founder and developer of Applied Kinesiology. Although I didn't know Dr. Goodheart long before he retired and eventually passed away, I will always remember just sitting and listening to his stories of how he developed this great science, philosophy and art called Applied Kinesiology.

My vision, from the time I decided to go to chiropractic school, was to have a holistic health clinic where people can come to get answers to their health problems in a Christian environment. With blessings from my Lord and Savior and a great deal of help and support from my wonderful wife and six children, I have now fulfilled my vision. In 2008 I purchased the office building from Dr. and Mrs. George Goodheart and formed a new corporation called Triad Health Solutions, P.C. Since then I have enjoyed helping hundreds of people from all parts of Michigan, other states and Canada discover their solutions for "Regaining and Maintaining Optimal Health"!

  • "“I originally came to this office after years of daily pain and going to a chiropractor 1-3 times a week with no results. After just one appointment, I could immediately feel the results like never before! I would strongly recommend Triad Health Solutions and in particular, Dr. Joe Wardie – a concerned, knowledgeable doctor, a good man!""
