A normal x-ray will have space between both the bone on the top and the bone on the bottom. A x-ray with arthritis will have less space or no space at all.
You can see that my knee x ray on the left shows a decrease in space and the bones are almost touching. Compare that to the x ray on the right and you will see an increase in space! What a miracle to see the change.
