Kyle Yu, DC

Dr. Kyle Yu is a native Texan but went to Emory University in Atlanta, GA for his undergraduate studies. After college, Dr. Yu accepted a scholarship to study traditional Mandarin Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan. Eventually, Dr. Yu discovered his passion was in healthcare and helping people achieve optimal health through natural means. He took the adequate prerequisite science courses and then enrolled in the University of Western States, a chiropractic university in Portland, OR. His time spent in Oregon solidified a newfound appreciation for the outdoor splendor that only the Pacific Northwest can provides.

So after a preceptorship in Santa Monica, CA at a prestigious multidisciplinary sports clinic geared towards treating Olympic-caliber athletes, Dr. Yu decided to return to the Pacific Northwest and work in Seattle, WA. Dr. Yu's background is in sports medicine and has a Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Western States. He has worked extensively with athletes on and off the field, in training rooms, on tracks, on the football field, on baseball fields, racquetball courts, ultimate frisbee fields, rugby fields, soccer fields, muay thai arenas, marathon races, etc. Dr. Yu holds certifications in Graston technique, RockTape, Kinesiotape, and is well-acquainted with a variety of movement based screens and rehabilitation theory, such as SFMA, DNS, Dr. Craig Liebenson's work, and Motion Palpation Institute (MPI) adjusting techniques. Dr. Yu is also well-versed in Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), IASTM, FAKTR, and other soft tissue modalities. 

When Dr. Yu was living in India, he also became certified as a Sivananda yoga teacher by Yoga Alliance as well as becoming an Ayurvedic oil massage therapist. In his free time, Dr. Yu enjoys any athletic activity and being out in nature. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, trail running, rock climbing and in general going on adventures and exploring the great outdoors. He is an animal lover, especially big dogs. Dr. Yu especially loves being near or in the water, whether that be the ocean, a lake, a river, a creek, or natural hot springs.
