Diversified / Full Spine Technique: The most common chiropractic adjusting technique used by most doctors of chiropractic. It is a technique which may utilize more than one method but will involve spinal adjustment.

Thompson Technique: A specific technique for adjustment of the full spine on a special table which has a slight drop in the cushions to improve the effectiveness of the adjustment without as much force into the patient.

Toggle Recoil Technique: A specific technique for the adjustment of the upper cervical (neck) spine. This technique usually utilizes a side posture table with a cervical head piece which makes a slight drop when the adjustment is given.

Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT): SOT is concerned with the relationship of dural dysfunction, cranial stress patterns and sacral fixation of the spine. In this technique, the doctor places padded blocks under the patient's pelvic area and/or sacrum in case specific categories to help the patient's body adjust itself

Motion Palpation examination procedure used to test the mobility of spinal joints by feeling for movement between the vertebra.

Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy: A trigger point is also known as a muscle knot. This is a muscle technique which utilizes deep pressure at certain locations in the muscles where knots and spasms have developed. This technique will help ease muscle pain and tightness.

X-rays: If x-rays are necessary to ascertain effective treatment, we can make sure the proper studies are performed. We can also recommend other special studies like MRI's, CAT scans, and nerve conduction velocity testing to facilitate the most accurate diagnosis.

As you can see, there are many ways a Doctor of Chiropractic can address a spinal condition, Harris Chiropractic Wellness Centre will help you choose the best mode of care based on your age, condition and body type.

Personalized Nutritional Coaching: Rebuilding the Temple (Your Body), Simply stated, "We Are What We Eat." Often, the difference between regaining health and remaining ill is the patient's eating and drinking habits. During your initial consultation, we will ask specific questions to determine if you require special nutritional advice. This is a critically important part of your chiropractic care. Once this important information is obtained, we provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to enhance our patients' return to optimal health. Maintaining a healthy diet and weight contributes to good spine health and freedom from chronic pain. We can design a nutritional program for you that gets you to the proper weight and maintain it over time. Minimize your risk of developing serious illness such as heart disease, stroke, fibromyalgia, diabetes and cancer.

Personalized Activities of Daily Living, Lifestyle Choices & Changes and Wellness Coaching:
We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most.

Personalized Ergonomic Work Place Stretches and Exercise Coaching:
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) affect the muscles, nerves, blood vessels, ligaments and tendons. Workers in many different industries and occupations can be exposed to risk factors at work, such as lifting heavy items, bending, reaching overhead, pushing and pulling heavy loads, working in awkward body postures and performing the same or similar tasks repetitively. Exposure to these known risk factors for MSDs increases a worker's risk of injury. /span> Work-related MSDs can be prevented. Ergonomics --- fitting a job to a person --- helps lessen muscle fatigue, increases productivity and reduces the number and severity of work-related injuries.
