EPA's 10 most toxic threats: Chiropractic tips for a healthier you!

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has identified several substances as the top 10 most toxic threats to human health and the environment.

These substances are considered significant threats due to their potential for long-term health effects and their persistence in the environment. The EPA works to regulate and mitigate the risks associated with these toxic substances to protect human health and the environment.

These "toxic threats," include:

1. Lead: Exposure to lead can cause neurological damage, especially in children.

2. Mercury: Mercury is a neurotoxin that can accumulate in the food chain and cause harm to the nervous system.

3. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs): PCBs are persistent organic pollutants that can have adverse effects on human health and the environment.

4. Pesticides: Certain pesticides, such as organophosphates and chlorpyrifos, can pose risks to human health and ecosystems.

5. Radon: Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can seep into homes and increase the risk of lung cancer.

6. Asbestos: Exposure to asbestos fibers can lead to lung diseases, including mesothelioma and lung cancer.

7. Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde is a volatile organic compound that can cause respiratory issues and is classified as a human carcinogen.

8. Benzene: Benzene is a volatile organic compound found in gasoline and can cause cancer and other health problems.

9. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs): PAHs are a group of chemicals that can be found in air, water, and soil, and some are known to be carcinogenic.

10. Dioxins: Dioxins are highly toxic compounds that can be released during certain industrial processes and waste incineration.

Being healthy takes time and effort.  Learning and understanding what keeps your body as stress free as you can get it is the key to health.
