Drop Table

Drop Table

Chiropractic has and always will be a “hands on” healing technique.  In 1895 when chiropractic was invented, Dr. Palmer had a padded table that he worked on to administer treatment.

In the 1950’s another chiropractor named Dr. Thompson customized a drop table to help administer gentle adjusting.  This enabled the patient to be face down on the table and be in a relaxed position upon receiving treatments.  There is no twisting or being put in uncomfortable positions.

Drop tables also help control the adjustment.  There is a stopgap that allows the chiropractor to adjust the table for each person based on weight.  There are no over corrections and force can be altered and tailored to each patient.

Since the 1950s this technique had produced positive results.  After getting adjusted you may immediately feel better.  Flexibility, pain relief, better sleep and a plethora of other benefits may occur.  Healing has now begun.

How does this table work?

When a chiropractor pushes down on portions of the table on areas of the body that need help moving properly and help the brain, nerves and the rest of the body communicate properly.  It is a less invasive way of administering a chiropractic adjustment.

But that’s not all….

All joints can be adjusted with a drop table.  The hands, feet, arms, legs, elbows, knees can all be moved with the table.

Dr. Amie Gregory began her career doing diversified technique where patients are on a standard table and a thrust was administered without the table moving.  In a lot of cases an audible or “crack” would be heard.  In time, she moved to drop table after purchasing a multi-purpose table.

Her patients enjoyed being more relaxed with the adjustments and she got the same results that she had previously gotten after diversified adjustments.  A new era began….

Drop tables may be different from what you may have had before with a chiropractor but they are just as effective.  “Cracking,” happens when gas is released from the joint. It is not the adjustment but a result of the adjustment.

Now that we have gone over what the drop table does, how about you give it a try?
