The Value of Your TCA Membership

Advocacy: Legislative and Legal Representation

TCA’s Department of Governmental Affairs, legislative team and lobbyists continually advocate in the Texas Legislature, Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners and other state agencies entities to protect your right to practice and provide greater access to chiropractic care for all Texans. During the 2017 Texas Legislative Session, TCA paved the way for the signing into law of four pro-chiropractic bills passed; the most important victory was SB 304 (aka the Sunset bill), which clarifies that Texas DCs may lawfully diagnose the biomechanical condition of the spine and musculoskeletal system.

TCA is dedicated to protecting our profession through legal defense and is the ONLY association fighting for your right to practice in Texas! When the Travis County District Court sided with the medical doctors in the TMA vs. TBCE lawsuit in 2016, TCA joined the appeal as a defendant.  At risk is the right of chiropractors to treat nerve-related conditions, including the subluxation complex. A decision from the Third Court of Appeals is expected in late 2018.

Networking: Valuable Connections
TCA is the place to go to connect with your fellow chiropractic colleagues at TCA conferences, district meetings and socials, the TCA Tour of Texas and other TCA-sponsored events. TCA also offers its New Doc Seminar series for DCs in their first few years of practice and career fairs for DCs looking for their next opportunity.

Why am I involved with TCA?

Alayna Pagniani-Gendron

To be honest, I originally got involved because I was asked to.

Being an involved TCA member has helped me in many ways.  I have met some wonderful mentors, received valuable advice that has helped me build a stronger practice, attended many top-notch educational seminars, and utilized member benefits that have saved me money.  Most importantly, I have come away with some great chiropractic friends and a sense of camaraderie with fellow DCs.

I am personally asking you to become a TCA member. But, ultimately, you should be a member for your patients. By supporting your state association, you allow them to continue to receive the care you that you excel at providing.

Alayna Pagnani-Gendron, DC
