How Does Laser Therapy Work?
Laser therapy works by combining specific red and near infrared light wavelengths to create a photochemical and therapeutic effect in our bodies. By combining different wavelengths of light, we get various effects on our body which promote healing, including increasing blood flow to the damaged tissue, delivering nutrients and oxygen, and increasing the elimination of waste. By drawing water, oxygen and nutrients to the damaged area we create an environment that is optimal for healing. The concentrated light also targets enzymes in our bodies which are capable of accelerating our bodies natural healing ability by increasing metabolic activity.
Laser therapy is effective for increasing circulation, decreasing inflammation, reducing pain and decreasing muscle spasms and joint stiffness.
