Shoulder injuries:
the shoulder joint is composed of three bones: the clavicle (collarbone), the scapula (shoulder blade), and the humerus (upper arm bone). Your shoulders are the most movable joints in your body, and can go in a lot of directions vs. the knee joint which goes in only 2 directions. the joint is a ball in a socket joint, and They can also be unstable because the ball of the upper arm is larger than the shoulder socket that holds it. To stay in a stable or "normal" position, the shoulder must be anchored by muscles, tendons, and ligaments, which hold the structure together.
Because your shoulder could be unstable, it can be easily injured. Common problems include
1. rotator cuff sprains/strains. there are four muscles that compose the rotator cuff muscles, and they could be strained with wrong movements.
2. dislocations, when the movements of the shoulder are more than what your normal limit is, the shoulder might get dislocated.
3. tendonitis, overuse can cause the tendons holding the joint to be inflammed, which causes "tendonitis", and it can cause a lot of pain which would lead to frozen shoulder if not treated in a timely manner, and properly treated.
4. Arthritis, it is an autoimmune condition but can cause a lot of shoulder pain if the bones start to impinge on the nerves that run through the shoulder joint such as the axillary nerve.
