In the beginning, you think you slept wrong but at the same time you let it go for a couple of days and see if the pain will go away by itself you take a couple of Advils or Aleve and then you put ice or sleep on a heating pad and then nothing happens. The next thing you try is a massage after about two or three weeks of having the same pain every day for at least a few hours period now the pain is noticeable and it aggravates you throughout the day and sometimes you start having headaches. After the massage the pain might disappear or you get a little bit of a relief afterwards for about 24 hours and then the pain gets worse or goes back to where it was before you had the massage.
At this point, you’re about a month or five weeks into the problem, and you're actually complaining about it to your friends family members and loved ones. One of your friends tells you to go to your medical doctor and you go to the doctor and they prescribe you Advil or Aleve with higher Portland, see then they tell you it will go away by itself. After about 46 months you have neck pain that's constant, headaches, upper back pain and numbness and tingling in one of your hands.
Next step you take is changing your pillow and see if that helps or you can go further by trying a new class of yoga or doing Pilates to see if that would help period. At the same time days and weeks go by without finding a solution of relief that would last longer than a few hours at the most.
Why does that happen?
Neck pain is a common symptom and symptoms appear in the body because it's the body's way of letting us know something is wrong. It's like an engine check light to tell us something in the engine is not working right or the car is not functioning at an Optimum capacity. When we have symptoms we associate that with the problem and when the symptoms go away we think the problem is gone but that's not true. The problem usually starts first and an accumulation of problems such as nerve impingement or muscle tightness or bone out of place would lead to the manifestation of symptoms.
Knowing the cause of the problem wood definitely lead to knowing what to do about it and solve it within the right time frame. If the problem is muscular then a specific approach needs to be taken to take care of the muscular problem. If the problem has to do with the nervous system then we have to address the nerves and the pathway of the nerve to see where the nerve impingement is and be able to remove that pressure off of it period. If the problem has to do with the joints in the bones that we have to address the bones and the joints accordingly. If there is more than one component involved as the root cause for the pain and you address only one route then the pain will not be resolved and it would continue on for weeks and months until it eventually gets worse .
Please make sure that you check with a professional first before you start any type of treatment to make sure that the treatment is effective and will assist in full recovery and healing of the tissue that is causing the pain.
