Why did you choose to become a Chiropractor?

Well, my father became a Chiropractor in 1980, so chiropractic was really a way of life for me since I was a child at 4 years old. I have fond memories of my father working on me when I had aches and pains, or when I just 'needed an adjustment.' I recall only going to the medical doctor a handful of times. I was a healthy kid growing up, and I feel that my father's influence as a chiropractor was a big factor in that.

I remember one of the most influential events in my life that helped me make my decision to become a Chiropractor was back in 1994. I had just started my undergraduate schooling at Brigham Young University and awoke one night with an excruciating pain in my head. I looked at the clock and recall it was about midnight, the lights were still on in the closet-sized dorm room. My roommate, still a good friend of mine, looked up from his textbook and said, 'Gotta headache?' I remember thinking to myself, 'Is that what this is?' He tossed me some pills and said, 'Take these, you'll feel better.' Soon afterwards, I went home to visit family and mentioned to my father what had happened, and the ongoing headaches since then. He treated me, and the headaches immediately improved. I recall asking why and how? I was reminded that I had been involved in an automobile accident about 10 months earlier, and hadn't seen a chiropractor for the 6 months or so since I left for college.

Since then, I have dedicated myself to helping others in need and teaching them the 'chiropractic way.' I have realized that there is so much that I take for granted because I was raised in a chiropractic family. I hope to share with others this philosophy and hope that I can help others a healthy and full life.
