FIBROMYALGIA

Fibromyalgia is a condition characterized by widespread pain in all four quadrants on the body for longer than 6 months. Despite what you may have heard fibromyalgia can be successfully treated. To treat fibromyalgia successfully the cause of the pain must be determined. This cause will be different for different patients. Symptoms are downstream reactions to upstream problems. Some of the upstream problems are:

Poor Diet: High sugar, not enough fiber from fruits and vegetables, too much protein and much more.

Poor gut health: dysbiosis, bad bacteria in gut, alteration of good bacteria, overgrowth of yeast, parasites, other pathogens

Food Allergies: IgG4 allergies which constantly inflame the gut when eaten.

Environmental Toxins: These can be in your food or environment.

Nutritional Deficiencies: Deficient in B vitamins, minerals.

Leaky gut syndrome: The tight junctions of the wall of the intestine can "leak" toxins into the bloodstream causing inflammation.

Genetic SNP's:  For more information  CLICK HERE

Stress: Stress affects everything!

Lifestyle: Exercise and sleep patterns can have a large influence on your health.

The above factors can be tested for to determine the area of deficiency. At Midwest Functional Medicine we perform comprehensive lab test to identify the specific factor in your fibromyalgia. We will then develop a comprehensive plan to fix the problem.
