Text Neck Pain

Text neck is a relatively new disorder caused by today's ever ending need to work, play, and socialize from your phone. Constantly glancing down to check your messages can cause a number of different spinal symptoms. At Lifetime Health & Wellness in Westminster and Broomfield, our chiropractor is here to help you avoid and deal with text neck pain symptoms.

Causes of Text Neck

Many people look down at their phones hundreds of times a day. While this can solely be out of habit, many people do this out of necessity. More and more, work is done outside of the traditional office. This requires workers to be in touch with supervisors and team members almost constantly, which can result in checking email, text messages, and other documents multiple times per hour.

Constantly glancing down at your phone makes your neck, shoulders, and upper (cervical) spine do more work than normal. This can cause misalignment of the spine, as well as a strain of neck muscles and tendons. Over time, this can result in pain. This pain can extend from the neck into the back, shoulders, and chest.

Text Neck Pain Treatment

Chiropractic posture correction is an excellent way to treat text neck pain. When you meet with our chiropractor, we'll talk with you about your neck pain symptoms. We'll likely recommend a combination of treatments, including spinal adjustment, lifestyle change, and posture correction to relieve text neck pain. We'll work with you to develop a treatment plan to ensure that your symptoms don't return over time.
