Cranial Adjustments

Cranial Adjustments Relieve Pain and Enhance Quality of Life

Cranial damage may occur during childbirth, from a blow or fall to the head, or from early childhood play injuries. Unfortunately, many people rarely receive adequate care for these injuries, which can lead to a lifetime of pain and health problems due to persistent cranial damage. Head injuries that happen at birth or in childhood lead to slowed or abnormal development. Traumatic head injuries can cause post concussive symptoms such as headaches, migraines, and brain fog.  If cranial subluxations are not corrected, headaches, blurred vision, balance, memory lapses, emotional irregularities, altered coordination, and decreased reflexes are common.  As the media is quick to point out, concussions and concussion related symptoms not only effect the person at the time but can lead to lifelong problems with brain function.  Cranial-misalignments also affect a persons Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) and Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD) because of how the jaw attaches to the skull.  If the skull is misaligned in the right places, the TMJ will not function properly.

Craniopathy Manages Pain and Supports Whole Body Health

Cranial misalignments affect the brain’s ability to properly function. For example, cranial-misalignments and dents can interfere with the cerebral spinal fluid’s natural circulation. Without proper treatment, this misalignment will persist, further compromising the brain’s optimal functionality. Individuals with cranial misalignments may suffer from cognitive disorders, cognitive difficulties, and experience a sub-standard level of health and life. Many individuals feel like they are living an “emotional rollercoaster” but are not sure why they experience such difficulty moderating or managing their emotions.

Learning difficulties are a prime example of how cranial misalignments can have a serious impact on an individual’s quality of life. Young children with cranial misalignments may experience difficulty with speech and math, while others struggle with reading. A right spherical indentation due to cranial misalignment will affect speech; a left indentation will affect reading. Cranial adjustments from our chiropractors are critical to correcting these spherical indentations and preventing long-term learning problems that compromise a child’s quality of life.

At Lifetime Health and Wellness, our chiropractors provide cranial adjustments based on a groundbreaking technique developed by Dr. Carl Ferreri, DC and perfected by Dr. Roger Turner, DC. Cranial Adjusting Turner Style (CATS) follows specific treatment protocols to treat head injuries and chronic headaches that do not respond to cervical adjustments. Craniopathy protocol is also beneficial for the treatment of post concussion symptoms, migraines, Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Epilepsy, and other learning or behavioral difficulties. Cranial Adjusting also helps with many other neurologic disorders. Unlike other cranial adjusting techniques, CATS is not light touch. This unique approach leads to outstanding results for patient care.

The human skull is comprised of thirteen bones that join together like puzzle pieces; something as simple as an accidental fall can knock these bones out of proper alignment. Many patients come to us because they are struggling with un-diagnosed health problems that traditional medical care is unable to successfully treat. The onset of many of these health problems is typically associated with cranial damage. However, since this damage may have occurred in early childhood, it could be years or even decades later that our patients finally are able to seek treatment. The good news is that craniopathy is effective for patients at any age – even if the initial traumatic injury is in the past.

Craniopathy is more than simply managing a patient’s pain. Subluxations in the skull place unnecessary strain on the brain and also affect spinal health. Cranial adjustments are an essential part of whole body wellness care. Contact us today to learn more!
