Meet Dr. Goshorn

    Charles Goshorn

Thank you for visiting our site. We are happy to be celebrating 31 years of practice in the Webster community. I am very grateful to belong to this community and profession. When starting my practice on Creek Street, the population of both Webster and Penfield was only 15,000 people each. Although many things have changed, the community is still a great place to live, make friends, and raise a family.

Chiropractic has been a great blessing to my family. We have come to know so many wonderful people and feel as if we have an extended family that stretches far and wide. My wife and three children have also benefited from the core philosophies of chiropractic. That is, health comes from within you and not to you. We are all responsible for our own health including our physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. We cannot take our health for granted.

This natural approach to health and life is a concept that has become more important and pertinent in our lives today. The pharmaceutical reliance in our modern age is deeply flawed and a resurgence of sanity is hopefully emerging. The saying is true, 'You can't fool mother nature'. I am personally committed to sharing a different message and I know that my purpose on this earth is to learn as much as I can and continue to share this.

The purpose of our practice is to inspire our community to seek and understand the concepts of natural living, to facilitate you to take charge, monitor and maintain your body for a healthier and happier life. We all accept that our bodies are an incredible complex work of undeniable brilliance. To be healthy, we need a strong balanced structure, good food, proper rest, and exercise. We were not born with extra organs or parts that need to be removed or repaired. Unfortunately, things do go wrong and we are tasked to resolve a sometimes complicated problem. Understanding more about our bodies makes us question much of what we have learned and may lead us away from convention. This will challenge you as it has greatly challenged me.

Chiropractic is best known for helping to alleviate painful complaints. My early years in practice were focused on learning many different adjusting techniques. I soon became frustrated when my patients suffered from complaints that didn't involve the spine. With a limited knowledge of extremity conditions, I watched my patients go for surgeries and treatments that I thought were not only unhealthy but, unnecessary. I spent the next several years learning advanced chiropractic techniques and became certified in Active Release Technique, (ART). This is a powerful method of repairing the soft tissue components of injury. It is most effective with knees, ankles, shoulders and elbows. ART is a popular and common treatment for professional and Olympic athletes. I had the pleasure in 2000 of attending the NCAA Track and Field Championships as a team doctor at Duke University. Fortunately, it is just as effective when you hurt yourself in the backyard as it is during a pole vault.

In 2002, I completed the course work and was granted the distinction Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP). This certification required 120 hours of post graduate education. The knowledge from this program is useful daily in my practice.

Most recently the office has a new emphasis, nutrition. My wife, Barbara, is a clinical nutritionist. She works within our practice and has added a very positive component to overall wellness, including weight loss, digestive disorders, and identifying food sensitivites. You will feel her influence in the practice even if you are not here for nutrition.  We also offer massage therapy as well. Collectively these services offer our patients a true Wellness Center experience.

Finally, I wish to say, after twenty nine years I still look forward to coming to work. I am blessed to work with wonderful people in a healing profession. I hope that if you are new to our practice, you take advantage of our commitment to you. Our mission is only fulfilled when you get the results you desire.

Testimonials

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I've had back issues ever since I had a seizure several years ago. I started seeing Dr. Hill and it has helped immensely. I have far less pain now and he taught me some stretches for when it does bother me. I usually have my 7 year old son with me and Dr. Hill is great at interacting with him and explaining how things work. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming."
