Treating a Variety of Injuries and Health Issues

As your chiropractor in Duluth, we are well-equipped to help you with a wide range of health concerns, including:

Auto Accident Injuries

Whiplash, neck injuries, back injuries, injuries to the extremities, headaches – car accidents can leave you with a variety of painful, debilitating injuries. Chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, spinal decompression and other techniques can relive pressure on nerves, reduce tension and improve healing times following your accident.

Back Pain

Back pain is a common complaint. It often results from subluxations of the spine, when the vertebrae come out of alignment, pressing on nerves and creating tension. Manual adjustments can help to return proper alignment, relieving pressure on nerves, reducing pain and improving mobility.

Neck Pain

Also known and the cervical spine, the neck is easily injured. Neck pain can come from disc problems, misalignment of the vertebrae, muscle tension and other causes. A manual adjustment can return proper alignment, while spinal decompression can create space between the vertebrae to encourage healing.

Whiplash

Rear-end accidents are most likely to result in whiplash. A neck injury caused by the whipping of the head back and forth, whiplash can cause significant pain and stiffness. We can use massage to reduce tension and manual adjustments to improve alignment.

Carpal Tunnel

Carpal tunnel is caused by pressure on the median nerve in the wrist. It can lead to a sensation of numbness, a lack of tactile sensations in the fingers and even immobility. We can offer adjustments to reduce pressure on nerves, treatments for reducing inflammation and advice on ergonomics to ease and eliminate symptoms.

Frozen Shoulder and Shoulder Pain

The shoulder joint is the most flexible joint in the body, which means it can be easily injured. Problems like rotator cuff injuries can cause so much discomfort that patients stop using the shoulder, leading to adhesions and stiffness known as frozen shoulder. We can adjust your shoulder for optimum function, offer treatments to break apart adhesions and exercises to return strength to your joint.

Fibromyalgia

Around 85% of those that suffer from fibromyalgia – chronic pain and discomfort in the soft tissues – are women. This condition can make leading a normal life extremely difficult. Spinal decompression through adjustments and traction can be helpful in reducing symptoms, as can lifestyle and nutrition counseling.

Headaches

The vast majority of headaches are tension headaches, which can be effectively treated through chiropractic care. Tension in the back and neck, often caused by spinal subluxations, can be treated using adjustments, spinal decompression and massage.

Osteoarthritis

As the body ages, the joints are often worn down, which can lead to pain. Sometimes the pain caused by arthritis can be severe and debilitating. Chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy and massage can all help to maintain regular range of motion, reduce inflammation and encourage healing.

Pinched Nerve

A pinched nerve can result from an injury, moving in an unfamiliar way, or just staying in one position for too long – like when you sleep. The symptoms can include numbness, tingling, shooting pains and sometimes significant, debilitating pain. Spinal decompression and manual adjustments are an excellent way to reduce or eliminate the pressure on the nerve, return proper alignment and allow your body to heal.

Plantar Fasciitis

When the ligament that runs along the bottom of the foot becomes inflamed and/or tears, it can lead to significant pain. The condition may make it hard to walk or run, particularly in the morning before the soft tissues in the foot have warmed up. We can offer several different treatments to help reduce pain and swelling, while also advising you on how to adjust your body mechanics to lessen discomfort.

Sciatica

When vertebrae in the lower back become misaligned, or discs bulge or herniate, it can put pressure on the sciatic nerve running from the lower back down the legs. The pressure causes sciatica, which symptoms include tingling, loss of sensation, shooting pains and sometimes leading to mobility issues. Through manual adjustments and spinal decompression, we can relieve the pressure on the sciatic nerve. Rehab exercises can also help to strengthen your body to maintain proper alignment and alleviate pressure on the nerve.

Slipped Disc

The discs between your vertebrae are designed to remain in place, cushioning each vertebrae from the next. Unfortunately, accidents and injury can cause the discs to bulge or herniate – where the inner part of the disc emerges through the outer layer. Disc problems are referred to as “slipped discs”, even though they do not actually slip. As the disc moves out of it’s proper position, it can put pressure on nerves in the spine and lead to pain and discomfort. Chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy and spinal decompression are all effective treatments for treating slipped discs.

Stress

Stress levels are at record highs, which means that more and more people are suffering from health issues associated with stress. Tightened muscles, discomfort, headaches, limited mobility, poor eating habits – you may find yourself suffering from a host of problems related to stress. Our team can help you learn how to lessen your stress levels through lifestyle coaching and nutritional advice, while also treating your symptoms that are causing you discomfort.

Sports Injuries

When you push your body, there is always a chance that you will sustain an injury. Our treatment center works with weekend warriors and serious athletes to provide gentle, non-invasive treatments designed to get you better and back to the sport you are passionate about.
