Our Approach

Neurologically based chiropractic.

It has been known for over 100 years that chiropractic care improves the function of your nervous system. Chiropractors look for something called vertebral subluxations, which is a fancy way of saying segments of your spine that are not functioning properly. Vertebral subluxations can cause pain, muscle tightness, inflammation and decreased range of motion - many of the concerns that prompt patients to seek care. Patients often notice other changes after they begin care including better sleep, improved digestion or less anxiety. This is because vertebral subluxations affect the ability of your brain and body to communicate effectively. When communication between your brain and the rest of your body is restored, you function and feel better.

Inflammation

Inflammation in the right amount at the right time is absolutely necessary for survival. Too much or chronic inflammation can lead to chronic pain, a dysregulated immune system, gut imbalances, auto-immune conditions, hormonal imbalances, mood disorders, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Decreasing excess inflammation can greatly improve health outcomes. An important and easy to measure marker of inflammation is your omega 3:6 ratio.

Hormone Imbalances

Hormones are chemical messengers that affect every aspect of your physiology. At the center of this hormonal cascade are your stress hormones cortisol and DHEA. Cortisol plays a central role in blood sugar regulation, immune system function, and metabolism. Periods of chronic or prolonged stress can lead to blood sugar imbalances, feeling tired and wired, fatigue, increased inflammation, decreased immune system function and weight gain. Balancing your stress hormones is key to increased health and resilience.
