Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP is most often used to treat physical injuries in the body such as tendon and ligament type injuries.

PRP has been around for decades. The procedure consists of isolating the healing properties of the patient's own blood that then can be injected into almost any area in the body to increase the healing potential. It is 100% natural with virtually no side effects.

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma or “PRP” is concentrated from your own blood which contains healing factors, such as white blood cells and bioactive proteins, called growth factors and stem cell markers. These cells are vital for tissue regeneration and repair. Platelets, once thought of being responsible for only clotting, have been scientifically proven to be a reservoir of these vital healing components. With advanced techniques, we are able to concentrate these regenerative healing cells in a simple outpatient setting.

Our $75 PRP Evaluation includes reviewing patient history,  a thorough medical examination, and any necessary diagnostics. We'll provide you with a report of findings and our recommendations. Find out if you are a good candidate for PRP. Contact us today to get started.

How it works.

A small amount of blood is taken from the patient and placed into a FDA medically approved container. This sterile disposable container is placed in a specialized centrifuge, for spinning, to separate the whole blood into “layers” of platelet rich plasma (PRP) and red blood cells. The PRP is aspirated/separated from the red blood cells and is injected, under sterile conditions, into the localized area of abnormality.

PRP signals for stem cells and regenerative cells to repair and rebuild the damaged tissue. This accelerated healing process reduces pain, promotes increased strength, and improves overall function. The healing process, known as the “healing cascade”, can be active and take place over a 4-6 week period.

PRP is from your own blood, autologous, so there is little to no risk when conducted by a trained professional. There is no risk for an allergic or immune reaction.

PRP Patient: Rene - Monument

Both knees painful for several years with increasing pain. Climbing stairs increasingly difficult and pain increasing. PRP injections were nearly painless and gave me almost immediate pain relief. I have also noticed that I am much more steady on my feet and I am able to climb stairs without pain

PRP Patient: David - Colorado Springs

I was having a slow recovery from a torn cartilage and stress fracture in my left knee. After 18-20 months of little to no improvement, my primary doctor recommended that I try "PRP" injections, and after 2 injections I have had a 85-90% improvement. I would recommend trying the "PRP" injections before considering surgery.
