Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy has a variety of advantageous medical and cosmetic uses, from helping restore damaged skin and treating musculoskeletal injuries to reducing hair loss and dark circles.
A PRP treatment begins with drawing a patient’s own blood and processing it in a centrifuge, to separate the other components of the blood from the platelets and concentrate them within the plasma. This concentration of enriched cells contains proteins and hormones called growth factors, which are intimately involved with the stimulation of cell reproduction and repair.
PRP is injected into the targeted area—typically injured or damaged tissue, tendons, ligaments, or skin—to enhance natural healing and rejuvenation.
