Laying the foundation for total health for San Diego
As a chiropractic patient you are a member of an elite group of healthcare consumers which includes the sports world's top competitors, leading actors and actresses, performers, industrial leaders and generally those who live a cut above the rest in terms of taking care of their human body. If you are building a building, you wouldn't dare construct the walls prior to laying the foundation. And if you tried to build your roof before the walls were up, you also would have a serious problem with your foundation. The laws of physics being what they are, the structure of our bodies are the same. Chiropractic treatment is an important element in overall functional health. If something is set wrong in your spine, then that needs to be corrected before full function can be realized. With chiropractic therapy, at least in our Mission Valley San Diego office, your body goes through a specific treatment plan so you can heal to full function, and not have to always deal with physical pain. Whatever plan you are in, the one thing that remains the same is that chiropractic care clears the communication between the brain and the body and allows for a full functioning body. There are three generalized plans of chiropractic therapy and treatment we perform in our chiropractic clinic.
Relief Care with Our Mission Valley Chiropractor
If you are in pain when you come into our Mission Valley San Diego chiropractic office, the first order of business is to get you feeling better. Depending on your situation you may need to visit us a few or even several times if there is serious low-back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, or headaches that are associated with a chronic pinched nerve. Or, perhaps one or two adjustments will get you out of pain.
Fixing the Problem
To fix the underlying problem with chiropractic therapy, muscles and other connective tissues need some time and therapy repetition to correct, or fix the problem. Since you have chosen a corrective path that does not involve radical surgery, or strong pharmaceutical products, you might think of this more like taking care of your body by giving it what it needs, in the same way that you have exercised at the gym on a regular basis. Fixing the problem also translates into preventing further injury or problems later on down the road. The goal we have when fixing the underlying cause is to restore your body back to as near 100% full function as possible given whatever limitations of matter we may be faced with. The duration and frequency of treatment will vary --
(A pinched nerve, or misalignment in the spine sticks, out like a sore thumb in the communication loop between brain and body. As you see in the chart above, all of our organs receive communication, their "marching orders," from the central nervous system. The pathways are brain, to brain-stem, to spinal cord; spinal nerve roots, to cells, tissues, muscles, organs, etc. Our job is to make sure that communication loop is pressure free. Our job is to clear the communication link at the spine/body interface. Additionally, a pinch nerve can exists within the muscle tissue, where entrapment often occurs as bundles of individual irritated/inflamed muscle fibers push on nearby nerve roots.)
-- according to your underlying condition and individual goals. At DiSabatino Chiropractic and Rehab Inc, you can rest assured we will not try and push you into a plan that you are not comfortable with. We hope to have you referring your friends or family to us, (since 95% of our practice is referral based). And we would not want to discourage you from attaining your goals by pushing you into treatment plans that you do not want.
Phase 3: Wellness Therapy
Once your condition is fixed and you are no longer suffering in pain, it could be a great idea to visit us for periodic checks to keep your body stable and at optimal function. The research has shown, just as in dental checks, spinal checks help avoid unforeseen problems. Usually, this phase of therapy only requires a quick visit to once in a while and is based on your lifestyle and health goals.
