The Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic Adjustments in Our Mission Valley, San Diego Chiropractic Clinic

Legend has it that the first chiropractic adjustment was delivered to a deaf man named Harvey Lillard, and that his hearing was restored. The concept behind that claim is that removing nerve pressure from the spine is a vital component to optimal function. Consider this: the first distinguishable feature in the developing human, in the embryonic phase, is the developing spine. Take this hypothetical example: imagine yourself in an anatomy lab, viewing a human embryo a few weeks after conception. What is the first feature you would be able to distinguish, i.e., the first distinct anatomical element within the human embryo? The answer is, of course, the spine. The spine is the first organ to take shape in the human body, as it is in any invertebrate. The point is, maintaining the health of the spine is of primary importance, as it plays a central role in the physiology and health of our entire body. Chiropractic is the only profession which is focused on the health of the spine; and we do this by way of chiropractic adjustments.

Today, in Mission Valley, San Diego, Dr. Nicholas DiSabatino, is providing thousands of chiropractic adjustments each year and positively effecting the lives of his patients by reducing the effects of pinched nerves. We are fortunate to have achieved excellent results treating the typical conditions chiropractors encounter. And more than that, our patients have absolutely reported living fuller, healthier lives without all of the pain and need for medications they would otherwise depend on.

Chiropractic adjustments are delivered to spinal and extremity areas of primary dysfunction; i.e., blockage. The specific area in the bone where the adjustment is applied is in effect blocked, as there is latent joint pressure, and this pressure prevents full movement in that area and decreases communication with the rest of the body. Every bone in the spine, called a vertebra, must contribute its portion of the range of motion for the entire spine to move fully. For example, the cervical spine, non clinical term being "neck," can bend forward at 50 degrees. So each neck bone must contribute about 7 of those 50 degrees. Yet what happens when one bone can only move five degrees? The pressure and blockage in a non-adjusted spine does not allow for the free flow of movement and communication between brain, brain-stem, spinal cord, and spinal nerves which feed the body of vital nerve impulse. The clinical term here is subluxation (literally meaning "less than dislocation"). applying the adjustment serves to restore full-function and clear up the blockage. This has profoundly positive effects on health. If you or a loved one go through your days with stiffness and decreased range of motion for example, then please, have your spine checked. The good news is that by visiting a chiropractor whom specializes in removing primary spinal blockage, and by following through with the recommendations, then you can live a fuller physical life, and hopefully participate in the activities in life at a higher levels and enjoy a more active lifestyle. We know that living a fuller physical life will have far reaching implications in many other areas of your life as well.

Safety of chiropractic adjustments: It is important to note that adjustments are safe, in fact, extremely safe. Data collected with respect to safety records of chiropractic adjustments has shown it is safer in fact, than the actual drive of your car to the chiropractor’s office in the first place.

Testimonials

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

I love going to see Dr. DiSabatino; it honestly seems miraculous how much better I feel after a treatment. He helps me with my running – my hip flexors get really tight after long runs – and he helps me feel better at work. I notice myself sitting up straighter and have fewer knots in my shoulders and neck even after long hours of sitting at my desk. You should check DiSabatino Chiropractic & Rehab, Inc. You will not be disappointed.
