Spinal Decompression in Herndon, VA

At RxWellness Spine & Health in Herndon, our focus is on the core system within your body. If your spine is healthy and properly aligned, the rest of your bodily systems will naturally follow. In fact, many common ailments that often plague our patients can be traced back to spinal misalignment. These can include migraines, joint soreness, muscle aches and more.

.We Focus on Nonsurgical Methods

The heart of our treatment plans we offer here at RxWellness Spine & Health are various nonsurgical options. While we understand that there are some instances in which medication is warranted, it is often only used to alleviate pain without adequately addressing the symptoms. In addition, nearly all medicines have some type of side effects that can range from mild to severe.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a nonsurgical method in which our staff uses a specially designed table, referred to as a traction table, to help realign your spine. This device is a motorized tool that enables us to gently stretch your spine. Our staff uses spinal decompression to relieve the pain and pressure that our patients often complain about due to degenerating, herniated or bulging discs.

Our Goals When Using Spinal Decompression

We here at RxWellness Spine & Health use spinal decompression to bring relief to your spine. One method of doing so involves creating negative pressure within the disc. This encourages the disc to reposition itself or, in the case of a bulging or herniated disc, draw back into its natural position. Another one of our goals when performing spinal decompression is to restore the natural flow of healing nutrients within the body. With this increased movement of substances over and inside the discs, healing is encouraged as toxins are flushed away.

What to Expect During Spinal Decompression

At RxWellness Spine & Health we want to provide a pain-free and relaxing environment in which your body becomes healthier. We want you to be completely comfortable during your time in our clean, spacious and modern office. We have our patients remained clothed during spinal compression. Once you lie down on our traction table, your hips are gently cradled within the harness. This harness is then attached near your feet at the end of the table. While the upper portion of the table remains stationary, the lower part of the table is moved gently back and forth. This precisely controlled movement provides both relaxation and traction. During the procedure, you should feel a stretch within your spine. However, you should not feel any pain or discomfort.

At RxWellness Spine & Health, our goal is to help you live your life in a pain-free manner. By focusing on the health of your spine, we can provide you with a strong core and foundation from which to work. Please call if you have any questions about our spinal decompression services or schedule an appointment today at 703-904-9666! We serve the Herndon, Sterling, Chantilly and surrounding VA areas.
