Spinal Decompression

spinal decompression centennial

Spinal decompression treats a variety of conditions like back pain, deteriorated spinal joints and sciatica, and is most noted for its treatment of disc herniations and protrusions.

This low-force technique uses a table with a movable low back section which enables the doctor to move the joints of the spine through all of their physiologic ranges of motion. These motions include: flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and circumduction.

When performed by a trained chiropractor, spinal decompression is very safe and will improve your body’s physical function. Depending on the reason you are seeking treatment, you can expect to see an improvement in as little as one to six sessions.

What to Expect

One of our doctors will have you lay on a spinal decompression table and place a large band around your waste connecting you to the table. With very little force, the table will create negative pressure and stretch the spine allowing the disc fluid to move back into place. This will expedite healing and alleviate pain.

A standard consultation lasts between 45 minutes to an hour.

On your first visit, we will request that you complete our patient forms. Our doctor will ask questions pertaining to your health history, concerns, and any pain or discomfort you have been experiencing. This will be followed by a physical exam. Depending on the severity, our doctor might request further examinations or X-rays.

How to Prepare
