Ultrasound Therapy

ultrasound therapy centennial

Ultrasound therapy is a unique therapy that helps reduce pain caused by injury, strain, inflammation, osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel, and scar tissue.

Ultrasound therapy sends low-frequency sound waves deep into your joints and muscles to heal the pain at the source. These sound waves warm the tissue and increase blood-flow to encourage healing. This therapy is very safe and approved by the FDA as long as it is performed by a licensed specialist.

What to Expect

One of our trained specialists will apply gel to a small area on your skin to help reduce friction and assist in the transmission of sound waves. They will then move the ultrasound probe around the muscle or joint for five to ten minutes. You may feel heat, pulsing, or nothing but the topical gel during treatment.

A standard consultation lasts 30 minutes.

On your first visit, we will request that you complete our patient forms. Our specialist will ask questions pertaining to your health history, concerns, and any pain or discomfort you have been experiencing. This will be followed by a physical exam. Depending on the severity, our doctor might request further examinations or X-rays.

How to Prepare

Ultrasound therapy can make muscle tissue and joints feel sore, so we recommend staying hydrated before and after your appointment. If you are seeking treatment for muscle pain, we recommend stretching regularly after your appointment.

You are more than welcome to fill out our patient forms in advance.
