Nasal Cranial Release in McMurray, PA

Nasal Cranial Release Adjusts Skull Bones, Relieves Chronic Pain

Nasal Cranial Release is a chiropractic adjustment technique that treats concussions and other head trauma by re-establishing the flow of the cerebral spinal fluid to the brain and spinal column. The release technique, first pioneered by Dr. J. R. Stober in the 1930s, adjusts the skull bones by using a small finger cot affixed to an inflatable device that is inserted into the nasal passageways. By releasing impactions in the cranial structure, this relieves forces that are adversely affecting the skull by restoring proper alignment. Our chiropractor Dr. Scott Anderson has received special training in nasal cranial release adjustments for treating concussions and other head trauma, and offers these treatments as part of our chiropractic care.

Nasal Cranial Release Treats Concussion and Head Trauma

Nasal cranial release may be beneficial for treating a variety of health conditions including headache/facial pain, vertigo, snoring or sleep apnea, TMJ pain, neck pain, ringing in the ears and more. This includes concussions, which affect millions of Americans each year. A concussion occurs when a blow to the head cause temporary unconsciousness. This traumatic brain injury can affect how your brain functions. While effects are usually temporary, long-term problems can include headaches, memory and concentration difficulties, and balance and coordination problems. Concussions are common in contact sports, like football and hockey, but can happen to anyone. A slip and fall, a sports injury, a workplace injury, or a car accident can all cause a concussion.

Symptoms of cranial misalignment include low energy, insomnia, muscle spasms, seizures, traumatic brain injury, vertigo and other balance problems, poor concentration and focus, muscle spasms, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, head pressure and migraines. Behavioral and emotional changes can occur as well, such as anxiety and nervousness, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and PTSD. The longer concussions and other head injuries go untreated, the worse these symptoms may become. Special consideration should also be given to individuals with jobs that increase the susceptibility for head injuries, such as athletes and military servicemen. These individuals are at increased risk for health problems associated with concussions and head trauma and will benefit from nasal cranial release.

If you are new to chiropractic care or nasal cranial release, it is natural to have questions about nasal cranial release and whether this is a good treatment option for your symptoms and health needs. The first step towards getting healthy is to talk to our chiropractor Dr. Scott Anderson to learn more about this treatment option and receive a full diagnostic exam. Based on your exam results, Dr. Anderson will determine if you are a good candidate for treatment and create a custom treatment plan. In some cases, throat irritation and/or nosebleed can be possible side effects. Sinus drainage is very common. Our chiropractor will gradually open the sinus passageways during several treatments to make the treatment as easy as possible on our patients.
