Spinal and Postural Screening

A spinal and postural screening is an important tool that we use to determine whether or not neuromusculoskeletal, musculoskeletal injury or imbalance are present. This quick and simple screening can find a misalignment of the spine which may be cutting off circulation, causing pain, and/or hindering your body’s natural healing process.

Your skeleton is meant to have the skull, shoulders, rib cage, spine and pelvis balanced and neatly in line with each other. Over time, muscular tension, poor postural habits, and injury can pull these structures out of alignment. Eventually, this will lead to pain, illness, and injury.

Our spinal and posturing screening can help if you are suffering from:

  • Shoulder injuries
  • Scoliosis
  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Muscle injury
  • Disc injury
  • Lifting injuries
  • Chronic headaches
  • Neck pain

Poor posture can be a cause of any or all of these conditions. It can also lead to the early onset of chronic pain and arthritis.

During your posture screening, your chiropractor will perform a static and dynamic analysis. The static analysis looks at the structures of the spine while sitting, laying down, standing or still. The dynamic analysis looks at these structures while performing exercise, doing work, or performing any task that may cause the suspected underlying injury or problem.

After your postural screening is complete, your chiropractic professional will recommend a course of treatment. In most cases, improvements will be felt after the first session of treatment. Our chiropractor will work with you to help create a comprehensive total body wellness regimen that you and your chiropractor will collaborate on.
