Chiropractic Partners, www.chiropartners.com, is excited to soon sponsor athletes in the 2017 Special Olympics NC Summer Games!  This event will be held June 2-4, 2017.                        

Mission:  The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

About:  Founded in 1971

Special Olympics NC is a Non-Profit Sports Organization and provides year-round sports training and competition for nearly 40,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Story:  Special Olympics North Carolina held its first Games in 1970 with 400 participants and has since grown to be recognized globally as one of the largest Special Olympics programs in the world. More than 38,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities train and compete in year-round programs in 19 different sports.

The Summer Games is the largest state-level event for Special Olympics North Carolina, featuring competition in athletics, bowling, cheerleading, cycling, gymnastics, powerlifting, softball, swimming and volleyball.

Raleigh has hosted the SONC Summer Games since 1994.  Bowling, cheerleading and cycling were new additions to Summer Games in 2016.
