Background:
Dr. Cory Voorhis is a Chiropractic Physician who grew up amongst the Wake Forest and Raleigh community. He was first attracted to the chiropractic profession when researching how he could best help his father’s ailments (a disabled military veteran) and other military veterans like his father. Having the ability to treat a multitude of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions without the use of drugs or surgery drove Cory to pursue a career in chiropractic.
Dr. Voorhis obtained his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and following that obtained his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic- Florida Campus. He graduated with honors from each institution, earning Cum Laude.
Dr. Voorhis is highly experienced in a multitude of therapies all with the goal of treating the patients individual condition, alleviating the patients pain, and improving the patients overall function. He is well-versed in a variety of adjusting techniques, soft tissue therapies, and rehabilitation. Molding each treatment plan to best fit the individual patient and their goals.
Dr. Voorhis has a strong background in athletics where he has treated a large variety of patients who have competed in sports such as football, soccer, baseball, softball, cross-fit, golf, wrestling, rugby, track and field, and cross country.
Outside of the office you can find Dr. Voorhis weight lifting, watching sports (especially soccer), and spending quality time with friends and family.
Academics and Involvement:
Degrees- Doctorate of Chiropractic (Palmer College of Chiropractic- Florida Campus) and Bachelors in Athletic Training (University of North Carolina at Charlotte)
Certifications- Board Certified Chiropractic Physician by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and North Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Board Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Board of Athletic Training (BOCATC)
Continuing Education- Mckenzie protocol (Part A), motion palpation full spine analysis and technique, motion palpation extremity analysis and technique, flexion and distraction technique, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, trigger point and myofascial release technique.
