Chiropractic Alignments

A chiropractic adjustment (alignment) is a type of treatment that consists of a specialist at our chiropractic care clinic "rearranging" the vertebrae in your back, with spinal adjustments. By moving them (adjusting), they align with the discs. Ultimately, this relieves pressure on the discs, surrounding tissue, and nerves. We use several techniques including the following:

    • Palmer
    • Activator
    • Gonstead
    • Webster
    • Cox Flexion/Distraction

The Palmer technique is a method we use at our chiropractic & chiropractic care clinic that focuses on freeing the nerves in the spinal column in order to reduce the symptoms of diseases. The Webster technique is mainly used for pregnant women. It's designed to reposition the baby into the optimal birthing position. The Gonstead technique focuses on specific regions throughout your spine in order to realign the vertebrae. The Activator method uses tools to realign the vertebrae while the Thompson Drop uses a table that drops in sections. The Cox Flexion focuses on decompressing the spine.

Spinal Decompression

We often use spinal decompression to help with issues like a herniated disc. The treatment is meant to separate the discs and vertebrae in the back in order to allow blood and nutrients to reach the discs. This allows injured discs to heal better. This particular works by our chiropractor using a device that gently pulls on your spine. You lay down on a table while the motorized device does all the work.

Other Treatments and Services We Offer

Often, spinal decompression and alignments aren't enough to treat your back pain from all angles. Usually, we need to combine one or both of these treatments along with lifestyle advice. We can assist you in preventing an injury in the future. Additionally, we may recommend you undergo massage therapy. Using it before or after a chiropractic treatment may improve the results of the treatment. The therapy targets the tissue deep within your body to reduce inflammation and pain.

We may recommend Kinesio Taping, which consists of our chiropractor using a specialized tape. It restricts movement while providing support and stability. Additionally, it encourages blood flow to the injured area to promote healing. Another treatment we offer is laser therapy, which uses laser energy to encourage the targeted area of your body to heal.
