In 2008 and again in June, 2012 Eugene, Oregon hosted the USA Olympic track and field trials. The 10-day meet was held at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Avid track fans packed the stadium just to be a part of what has come to be known as Track Town, USA.  Dr. Michael Krasnov of Chiropractic Partners participated as an official chiropractor for the athletes. He is familiar with track and field athletes, having served as the team chiropractor for the 1996 USA Olympic Track and Field Team in Atlanta.

“Anyone who watched the athletes get treated could see that chiropractic care is not just for aches and pains, but is also used by athletes to maximize their performance,” said Dr. Krasnov. Dan O'Brien, former decathalon gold medalist whose world record was just broken at this year's trials, was once quoted as saying, "if it was not for chiropractic care, I would not have won the gold medal".  In addition, it was recently reported that Jamaican sprinter, also known as the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt utilizes chiropractic care to improve his performance. Bolt is a three-time Olympic gold medalist who holds the world and Olympic records in the 100 meters, 200 meters and, along with teammates, the 4x100 meter relay. Dr. Krasnov has worked with many athletic associations over the years including North Carolina State University, Duke University as well as various USA Track and Field championships and trials.

Amidst the hype and excitement at Hayward Field, there was a banner stating, “The Road to London Starts Here.” Dr. Krasnov is very much a part of that sentiment. Several of the athletes he treated at the trials in Eugene made the US team and are currently competing in London.
