Eating healthy may seem like it is easy enough to do. However, when you’re busy or tired, it is much easier to just grab something simple. Often, these simple choices are not very healthy. Here are a few tricks to make eating healthier more convenient.

Cut Up Fruits and Veggies Once a Week

Pick a day to do some simple food preparation each week. Just do things such as chopping up your veggies for snacks or salads. Dip broccoli, carrots, or celery in hummus or salsa for a healthy snack. Prefer fruit? Pre-slice some apples or pears and pre-portion your grapes. To prevent the apples or pears from turning brown, dip them in a lemon juice/water combination or pineapple juice for 10 seconds.

Blend Vegetables into Sauces

If you aren’t a big fan of the texture or flavor of a certain vegetable but want to eat it for the vitamins it will add to your diet, try blending it into a sauce or dressing. The other flavors involved will help mask the flavor of the vegetable you dislike.

Drink Vegetable Juice or Green Smoothies

Mix some of your favorite vegetables together in a smoothie. Add one of your favorite fruits to the drink to sweeten it a bit or grind up some almonds to add protein. Prefer vegetable juice? Drinking one glass a day will usually give you two servings of fruits and vegetables. Check out some great smoothie recipes here.

These simple steps can make eating healthy much easier and more convenient for you. Talk to your local chiropractor at your next appointment and ask if they have any other recommendations for healthy eating. Call one of our convenient locations today!
