It can be difficult for some to get motivated to exercise. However, once you get started, setting a routine is easy! Be careful though. It’s all too easy to get into a routine of minor fitness mistakes. These small errors in how you exercise can slow your progress.


Stretch!

Don’t forget to stretch before and after you work out! Stretching beforehand helps prepare your body for exercise. Ensuring you stretch following your exercise routine will help prevent overuse injuries and achiness.


Switch It Up!

Performing the same exercise routine every day will get results because you are exercising. However, by doing the same exact routine each time you work out, you are limiting your results. For example, doing a 30 day sit-up challenge you found on Pinterest or Facebook will make your abdominal muscles stronger. But, by doing sit-ups every day (or 6 out of 7 days a week, as many challenges call for), you are likely to overwork your abdominal muscles. Or, perhaps you love to run. While running has many benefits, by not changing your routine, you may see slower results or a plateau in your progress. So, instead of doing the same exact routine daily, switch it up! Try doing yoga one day a week, cardio another day, focusing on core muscle groups another, etc.
