Did you know that eating certain foods high in Omega-3"s can keep your heart healthy? 

Fish, nuts, and avocados are just a few foods that are good sources of omega-3's.  They are also full of various vitamins and nutrients.  So not only are they good for you they help fight things such as heart disease!

Omega-3’s can be found in:

Fish-  Fish are high in omega-3 fats. These help fight heart disease by lowering blood pressure, reducing inflammation, and more.  Look for fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, and mackerel.  Did you know studies show that half or less of Americans eat fish weekly?  

*Be sure you know which kinds of fish you should consume more or less of. Certain fish is high in mercury content. At minimum, you should choose wild caught fish, as farm raised is not the same

Nuts- Nuts are a valuable part of a healthy diet, because they contain essential fats necessary for a healthy heart and brain. Fatty acids in walnuts are a rich source of omega-3's.

Avocados- Avocados are high in omega 3 fatty acids, remember this is the good kind of fat!

Many types of fish are high in vitamin D which can help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer. 

A study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine also states that “eating fish once or twice a week may also reduce the risk of stroke, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and other chronic conditions.”
