Dr. Jeffrey Weiss Recognized as Outstanding
Faculty Member of the Year
Dr. Jeffrey Weiss was named Texas Chiropractic College Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year at Deer Park Chamber of Commerce’s annual Salute to Education, an annual event to recognize the hard work and achievements of local instructors. Along with his recognition, Dr. Weiss also received a congressional certificate from Congressman Brian Babin of District 36.
“I am humbled by this recognition,” Dr. Weiss said. “ It would not have been possible without the gracious support of my colleagues, administration and most importantly our students, who put their trust in us, enabling us to create a vibrant atmosphere of learning and professionalism.”
Dr. Weiss began his career with TCC in 1996, when he started as an Attending Clinician. His current duties include lead professor in the first adjusting course, director of the campus’ high-tech Simulation Center and Attending Clinician in the Student Health Center.
In 1992, Dr. Weiss opened Meyerland Chiropractic, which he continues to operate. His career highlights include being a guest lecturer at the University of Texas Health Science Center; assisting in the development of TCC’s state-of-the-art Assessment Center; and receiving the 2013 William D. Harper Science of Existence Achievement Award, the school’s highest accolade.
Dr. Weiss was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Mich. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in 1982 and
his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1986. While in Los Angeles, he met his wife, Yvonne, and subsequently moved to Houston. His daughter, Taylor, followed him in the medical field with her degree from NOVA Southeastern Physician Assistant School. Dr. Weiss is an avid bowler and has the distinction of bowling a 300.
