Alumni Programs

Mentor Program

The Mentor program allows our students to visit alumni in their prac-tice to see first-hand how an office operates. It helps students in-crease their knowledge about the profession, review career options, and it helps ease students transitioning into the workplace. We now have over 120 Mentors throughout the US.

Ambassador Program

The Ambassador Program is a way for alumni to Assist the Office of Admission with recruiting at college fairs and pre-chiropractic events. This is an opportunity for them to promote their practice while recruit-ing new students. They can also distribute materials at their office. There are 52 Ambassadors that are helping TCC in various ways in getting the word out about TCC and recruiting prospective students.

Speed Mentoring Event

Our first Speed Mentoring event was held on January 29 in the Rus-sell Auditorium. There were 10 alumni Mentors and 50 students that participated. Our next event will be scheduled soon!

Lunch with the Pros

Each trimester we invite alumni to speak each month on campus to our students during general assembly to talk about starting up a prac-tice, their experience in the profession, and what it takes to be suc-cessful. At the end of their speech they are asked questions and sometimes students meet with the doctors to establish a visit to their office.

Clinic Visit Program

Program allows a small group of students in all trimesters the oppor-tunity to visit alumni clinics; speak with field doctors and their staffs in a relaxed, casual atmosphere and find out what works in the “real world.” By visiting local clinics, students can see how a clinic is set up, ask questions about office billing, advertising, hiring employees, or other related topics and begin to envision what their future will be like. They also ask the doctors about their expertise, practice management, patient retention, or business management.

Alumni Chapters

Our new goal for 2016 is to form alumni chapters in various cities and states. We have three alumni in Louisiana that will help in our efforts to form a chapter in their state.

Communication

The Office of Alumni Relations is the primary communications link between the College and our alumni. It is our goal to encourage and foster lifelong alumni participation, involvement, and commitment. In 2011 we created an Alumni FaceBook page, and Linkedin account. Through this we are keeping up with announcements of new practices, birth announcements, weddings, etc. We are also publishing this information un-der alumni news in the TCC Magazine. My next goal for 2014 is to create a monthly newsletter with this information.
