Allergy Relief

The next time your allergies flare up, it may be a good time to visit Dr. Jere Jarrett. Most people don’t know it, but chiropractic care can help provide effective allergy relief.

Dr. Jere remedies allergies by isolating the source of your allergy and proofing your body up so that it doesn’t react to allergens.

About Allergies

Allergies are caused by substances known as allergens. Common allergens include pollen, grasses, dust, animal hair, smoke, chemicals, different food types (such as wheat, dairy, etc.) and some medications.

Conventional treatment of Allergies

Allergy medicines can have various side-effects, not the least of these being falling sleep at unwanted times!

There are many prescription and over-the-counter medicines to relieve allergy symptoms. This includes antihistamines, decongestants and allergy shots. However, even a nonprescription antihistamine can cause you to fall asleep at work.

Other lesser-known side effects of allergy medication include: Low libido, anxiety, depression, increased appetite, altered sense of taste, altered sense of smell, impairment of thinking, infertility in women and even long-term health issues.

Get effective treatment for Allergies

Dr. Jere has been successfully treating allergies for decades. He first performs a Diagnostic Exam to find the source of your allergic reaction. He looks for the allergen but more importantly he finds the underlying cause that is leaving your body open to allergies. It could be a glandular problem, neurological (nervous system), immune system or digestive processing problem. Whatever the cause, Dr. Jere can relieve your allergies and proof your body up so that it is not prone to allergic reactions.

He prepares a plan including whichever treatment is needed to remedy the allergy. It can include one or more of nutritional counseling, targeted supplementation and chiropractic adjustments.

Boost your immune system for an allergy-free body
The role of the nervous system

Chiropractic adjustments release the stress built up in the nervous system, which allows it to perform better. A stress-free nervous system in turn permits the immune system to function more efficiently. Simply put, when the nervous system functions better the immune system benefits, as do other organs.

Dr. Jere Jarrett can correct a basic cause of body malfunction to improve the function of your immune system. That’s because his chiropractic approach removes vertebral subluxations, a common spinal distortion that puts stress on your nervous system. Freed of nervous system stress, your body will work more effectively to neutralize the effects of allergy-causing substances in your environment.

Nutritional support and exercise

Nutritional support is critically important for a properly functioning immune system. Without essential nutrients, your body can’t produce the cells needed for adequate immune function.

Exercise is also an important factor in boosting immune function. Aerobic exercise in particular has been proven to help stimulate proper immune cells and suppress histamine-producing immune cells. Each of these cell types plays a critical role in the immune response.

Dr. Jere would be happy to answer any questions you may have concerning exercise and nutrition. He can also create personalized chiropractic, nutrition and exercise programs that are tailored to meet your specific healthcare needs.
