What is Whiplash?

Whiplash occurs when your head is suddenly jerked or jolted, causing it to move violently away from your body. The head snaps forward and then backward. It is the most common consequence of auto accidents.

The sudden jolt of an auto accident can cause serious injuries. Even if the crash seems minor, the damage to your spine and neck may not be. There can be injuries underneath the skin, even if you don’t have a scratch or a bruise.

Sometimes the symptoms aren’t felt until days, weeks or months after whiplash has occurred. Treatment for Auto injuries

After your initial exam, X-rays and testing, we start your treatment program. We initially work to decrease your pain and inflammation. Then Dr. Jere will work to restore mobility and normal alignment and posture.

Dr. Jere works to prevent permanent injury and spinal degeneration of bones, nerves, muscles and ligaments. He’ll also address any nerve, muscle or spinal issues that existed before your injury, if you want.
