Qualified Medical Evaluators

A Qualified Medical Evaluators (QME) is an independent physician who is certified by the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) medical unit to provide medical evaluations on injured workers.

An approved doctor will examine the patient in order to evaluate the worker's disability, by making the most accurate diagnoses possible.

QMEs are responsible for writing the appropriate medical-legal reports and submitting them to the DWC.

The report is used by the DWC to determine an injured worker's eligibility for benefits from workers' compensation.

Back injuries are some of the most common workplace injuries and can be among the most difficult to assess.

Our QME is a highly trained, experienced physician who will do a comprehensive examination and a health history on each patient to help determine if their injury is work–related.
